Her work has been included in exhibitions at the Whitney Museum, New York, REDCAT, Los Angeles, and Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, among other institutions. In 2016 Bowers presented Whose Feminism Is It Anyway? at Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York, and Triumph of Labor at Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects. Guggenheim Museum, New York, where he co-runs the Panza Collection Initiative, a Mellon Foundation study project devoted to the museum’s holdings in Minimal, Postminimal, and Conceptual art. In 2008 he served as director of Dia Art Foundation, leaving to return to academic and curatorial work. Widely published on topics of modern and postwar art, his writing is regularly featured in Artforum.
