Robert Irwin (Chelsea): Excursus: Homage to the Square³
April 12, 1998–June 18, 2000, Dia Chelsea
Overview
Best known for works that focus on the interplay of natural light and perception, Robert Irwin has taken as his premise in this project the extended durations that characterize Dia's exhibition program, exploiting the changing light conditions over the eighteen months devoted to this installation. In this second part of his site-specific presentation, he has introduced an array of variously colored fluorescents into eighteen chambers defined by scrims.
