Dia 15 VI 13 545 West 22 Street Dream House

Overview

Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the Dream Festival that was organized by Dia Art Foundation in 1975 and demonstrating the institution’s commitment to long-term support for artists, Dia presents a newly acquired, site-specific iteration of Dream House by La Monte Young, Marian Zazeela, and Jung Hee Choi at 545 West 22nd Street in New York City. Titled Dia 15 VI 13 545 West 22 Street Dream House, the sound-and-light installation includes Young’s sine-wave sound environment, Zazeela’s sculptures and light design, and Choi’s installation Ahata Anahata, Manifest Unmanifest IX. A program of concerts and performances will accompany this exhibition.

La Monte Young  Marian Zazeela  Jung Hee Choi

La Monte Young was born in Bern, Idaho, in 1935. He lives and works in New York City. Marian Zazeela was born in New York City in 1940, where she currently lives and works. Jung Hee Choi was born in Seoul in 1969. She lives and works in New York City.
