In collaboration with Keio University Art Center, Tokyo, Dia presents a selection of film and video works either featuring or realized by Kishio Suga, whose sculptures and installations will be on long-term view at Dia Beacon starting July 19, 2025. The selection includes Being and Murder (1999), a feature-length, philosophical murder-mystery film that Suga directed on the occasion of his survey exhibition at the Yokohama Museum of Art, Japan, as well as video documentation of his performative “activations” and conversations with other artists—Yutaka Matsuzawa, Nam June Paik, and members of the theater group Tenjō Sajiki, among others—by the Tokyo collective Video Information Center. Being and Murder screens at 12, 1:30, 3, and 4:30 pm; other works play on loop throughout the day. Kishio Suga: Being and Murder is organized by Matilde Guidelli-Guidi, curator and co–department head, with Min Sun Jeon, assistant curator, and Chaeeun Lee, 2024–25 curatorial fellow.
