Tiona Nekkia McClodden is a visual artist, filmmaker, and curator whose work explores and critiques issues at the intersections of race, gender, sexuality, and social commentary. McClodden’s interdisciplinary approach traverses documentary film, experimental video, sculpture, and sound installations. Recent solo exhibitions include MASK / CONCEAL / CARRRY, 52 Walker, New York (2022); THE POETICS OF BEAUTY WILL INEVITABLY RESORT TO THE MOST BASE PLEADINGS AND OTHER WILES IN ORDER TO SECURE ITS RELEASE, Kunsthalle Basel (2023); and A MERCY | DUMMY, White Cube, London (2024). Recent group exhibitions include the Whitney Biennial, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2019); Hardcore, Sadie Coles HQ, London (2023); and Going Dark: The Contemporary Figure at the Edge of Visibility, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (2023–24). Her writing has been published in Artforum, Cultured Magazine, and Triple Canopy, among other publications. She is the founder and director of the exhibition space and library Conceptual Fade, Philadelphia.
