December 14–18, 2020
In conjunction with the launch of Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme’s digital commission Postscript: after everything is extracted—the first part of their larger project titled May amnesia never kiss us on the mouth (2020– ), co-commissioned by Dia and The Museum of Modern Art, New York—Dia is hosting a weeklong online screening of two recent films by the artists. Abbas and Abou-Rahme work together across a range of sound, image, text, installation, and performance practices. Engaged in the intersections between performativity, political imaginations, and virtuality, their work highlights counter-narratives that upend strategies of erasure particular to colonialist structures.
The films will be available here to view from Monday, December 14, 12 pm (EST) to Friday, December 18, 8 pm (EST).
