12/06/2021 10:30 12/06/2021 12:00 America/New_York Saturday Studio on the Farm Event DetailsSaturday, June 12, 10:30 am–12 pm Common Ground Farm79 Farmstead LaneWappingers Falls, New York Join practicing artists for free outdoor art and exploration workshops offered in partnership with Common Ground Farm. Designed for all ages, Saturday Studio is a family friendly program that is most suitable for children ages five and up. Saturday Studio begins promptly at 10:30 am at Common Ground Farm. In the case of inclement weather, the program will take place on Sunday, June 13, 2021, 10:30 am–12 pm. In consideration of everyone’s safety, space is limited and reservations are required. Reservations open on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 9 am. For those that are not able to attend the program, artist-designed exercises for the home will be available through the Saturday Studio mailing list. Program Guidelines: Families attending Saturday Studio must include at least one adult caretaker. Groups should be no larger than six people. The program will take place outdoors with social distancing. Families will have individual stations and materials. Programs may involve walking and exploring the grounds of the farm. Face coverings are required throughout the duration of the program except when families are seated at their individual stations. Advanced reservations are required. No walk-ins will be accepted. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By attending Saturday Studio at Common Ground Farm, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Lippard and Alexis Lowry Event Details Tuesday, June 22, 5 pm Listen live on Montez Press Radio   Tune in at radio.montezpress.com  Lucy Raven will discuss her practice and new commissions with critic, curator, and activist Lucy R. Lippard and Dia curator Alexis Lowry. This conversation is organized in conjunction with the opening of Lucy Raven’s exhibition at Dia Chelsea.  Lucy R. Lippard was born in 1937 in New York City. She is a writer, activist, curator, and cofounder of various activist artist groups (including Ad Hoc Women Artists Committee, Artists Call Against US Intervention in Central America, Heresies, PADD, and Printed Matter). Since 1966, she has published twenty-five books on contemporary art, cultural studies, and local history. She lives in a New Mexico village where she edits the monthly community newsletter, serves on the Water Board and the Fire Department auxiliary, and is active in community planning and land use issues.    Lucy Raven was born in Tucson, Arizona, in 1977. She received a BFA in studio art and a BA in art history from the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 2000, and an MFA from Bard College’s Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, in 2008. Her work has been exhibited in solo presentations at the Nevada Museum of Art, Reno (2010); Hammer Museum (2012); Portikus, Frankfurt (2014); Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco (2014); VOX  centre de l’image contemporaine, Montreal (2015); Columbus Museum of Art (2016); and Serpentine Gallery, London (2016–17).  With Vic Brooks and Evan Calder Williams, she is a founding member of 13BC, a moving-image research and production collective. Raven teaches at the Cooper Union School of Art in New York.     Alexis Lowry is a curator at Dia Art Foundation, New York, where she recently organized Lucy Raven’s exhibition at Dia Chelsea.   Dia Online FALSE DD/MM/YYYY Lucy Raven in Conversation with Lucy R.
