Join us at Dia Bridgehampton for an afternoon reception and preview of Amy Sillman: Alternate Side (Permutations #1–32). The artist’s new site-responsive commission began with a question: Can printmaking itself serve as a model and method for a whole room? To answer, Sillman uses the gallery walls as her canvas, covering them with prints and various media. The activated architecture is then complemented by the addition of further printed and painted forms.

Since the 1990s, Sillman has produced a prolific body of paintings, zines, prints, and animations. This exhibition draws especially on her extensive writing on color and was conceived partially in response to the chromatic vibrations of the permanent Dan Flavin installation on the second floor.
