Program Description
Activations is a series of interdisciplinary public workshops designed by artists in response to civic spaces in New York City. Each activation invites participants to encounter a readymade site through the lens of an artistic practice, reimagining it as a space of creative possibility. All are welcome to participate.
Alan Martín Segal was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is an artist and filmmaker. His work has been presented in various international institutions, galleries, and biennials including the Hessel Museum of Art, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York; Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art; BIENALSUR; The Kitchen, New York; and SculptureCenter, New York. His films have been featured in film festivals such as the New York Film Festival, Viennale, FIDMarseille, Rencontres Internationales, Jeonju International Film Festival, and Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata. Segal lives in New York.
