Dia Art Foundation Expands Board Leadership with the Appointment of Two New Members

Jane Skinner Goodell and James Murdoch Are Named Trustees

New York, NY - Dia Art Foundation announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Trustees, expanding from sixteen to eighteen board members. The new members join the institution as it continues to expand and strengthen its program at all of its sites, including Dia:Beacon and Dia:Chelsea, as well as at its pioneering projects in the western United States and site-specific commissions. The new members are Jane Skinner Goodell and James Murdoch.

"I am delighted to welcome two extraordinary individuals to the board," said Nathalie de Gunzburg, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dia Art Foundation. "The breadth and diversity of their experiences and expertise will contribute enormously to our work. I would also like to thank Dia's director and the nominating committee for its hard work in enlisting these new candidates."

Jane Skinner Goodall
Jane Skinner Goodell spent twenty years as a television reporter and anchor, most recently for the Fox News Channel in New York City. Prior to Fox, she worked in several local television markets including Portland, Maine, and Saint Louis, Missouri. As an undergraduate student, she attended Brown and Northwestern Universities. Goodell also received a master's degree from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, Media, and Integrated Marketing Communications. She is a collector of contemporary art and is married to the commissioner of the National Football League, Roger Goodall.

James Murdoch
James Murdoch is Chief Executive Officer of 21st Century Fox. Murdoch has held a succession of leadership roles over his nearly two-decade-long career with the company, culminating in his appointment to CEO in 2015. He serves as a board member of 21st Century Fox and News Corp, and was recently named chairman of Sky, Europe's leading entertainment company. Murdoch is also a nonexecutive director of both Yankee Global Enterprises and Vice Media, and he serves on the Board of Directors of the Ghetto Film School. In 2014 Murdoch and his wife, Kathryn Murdoch, founded the Quadrivium Foundation to support initiatives involving natural resources, science, civic life, childhood health, and equal opportunity.

Dia Art Foundation
Founded in 1974, Dia Art Foundation is committed to initiating, supporting, presenting, and preserving extraordinary art projects. Dia:Beacon opened in May 2003 in Beacon, New York. Dia also maintains several long-term sites, including Walter De Maria's The New York Earth Room (1977) and The Broken Kilometer (1979), Max Neuhaus's Times Square(1977), Joseph Beuys's 7000 Eichen (7000 Oaks, which was inaugurated at Documenta 7 in 1982) and Dan Flavin'suntitled (1996), all of which are located in New York City; the Dan Flavin Art Institute (established in 1983) in Bridgehampton, New York; De Maria's The Lightning Field (1977) in western New Mexico; Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty (1970) in Great Salt Lake, Utah; and De Maria's The Vertical Earth Kilometer (1977) in Kassel, Germany.

Dia currently presents temporary exhibitions, performances, lectures, and readings on West 22nd Street in New York City.
