ROBERT LEHMAN LECTURES ON CONTEMPORARY ART: DAVE HICKEY, BUSINESS ART

Dave Hickey will lecture on Andy Warhol, as part of the Robert
Lehman Lectures on Contemporary Art at Dia Center for the Arts,
548 West 22nd Street, New York City on Thursday, April 27, 1995.
The lecture will begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5.00.
This lecture is organized in conjunction with "Andy Warhol: The Last Supper Paintings," an exhibition at Dia's main exhibition facility, 548 West 22nd Street, on view through June 25,1995. The exhibition
includes five monumental paintings, each up to forty feet in length,
based on Leonardo da Vinci's 15th century masterpiece of Christ
and his Apostles at the Last Supper.
Dave Hickey is Associate Professor of Art Criticism and Theory
at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has served as Executive
Editor for Art in America magazine in New York, and as
Staff Songwriter for Glaser Publications in Nashville, and has
written for most major American cultural publications. In 1989,
SMU Press published Prior Convictions, a volume of his
short fiction. His most recent book, The Invisible Dragon:
Four Essays on Beauty was published by Art Issues Press in
1993. He received the prestigious College Art Association's Frank
Jewett Mather Award in 1994.

grant from the Robert Lehman Foundation, Inc. Funding for "Andy
Warhol: The Last Supper Paintings," has been provided by
the Dia Art Council, the major annual support group of Dia Center
for the Arts, and the Dia Art Circle.
