Liz Deschenes was born in 1966 in Boston, Massachusetts. Her work has been included in many international exhibitions at venues including Bard Hessel Museum, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York (2011); Klosterfelde, Berlin (2011); Musée Juif de Belgique, Brussels (2011); Bergen Kunsthall, Norway (2011); New Museum, New York (2010); and Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2010). Previously, Deschenes’s work was included in Photography on Photography: Reflections on the Medium since 1960 (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2008) and Color Chart: Reinventing Color, 1950 to Today (The Museum of Modern Art, New York, 2008, and Tate Liverpool, 2009). In 2012, a solo exhibition of her work was presented at Secession in Vienna. Deschenes currently serves on the visual art faculty at Bennington College in Vermont. She lives and works in New York.
