The Beacon Music Factory is a super rocking music school and was founded to create the opportunity for adults and kids to learn and play music. Our goals are to prepare kids for a musical life, and to help teens and adults build and refine skills for seriously making music.
We offer private lessons in a range of instruments, from guitar to violin, cello, bass, drums, piano, voice, trumpet, harmonica, banjo, and more. Our group classes cover a spectrum of aesthetics and approaches. In
Junkyard Orchestra Camp, for example, kids make their own instruments and kazoos, taught by seasoned vaudevillian performer Michael Farkas, renowned for leading the genre-bending band The Wiyos. On the other end of the spectrum, we have a string program for kids and adults, taught by the Conservatory-trained Kathleen Patrick. We also offer
Jazz Ensemble for teens and adults; one-day workshops like
Electronic Music: Powered By Girls; and the ever-popular
Rock Band Boot Camp program. For the current list of classes, please visit our website
