In the Learning Lab, participants will be asked to sit and listen to sounds with eyes closed. The sounds will be somewhat unfamilar ones, performed live by musicians. Next, they will be asked to listen again with eyes open, and draw their ideas or impressions of what the sound "looks like" on the paper in front of them, using ink and brushes.
This will be repeated with a range of sounds: first single sounds, then combinations of sounds. Afterwards, McGill will introduce participants to the Neuhaus work, and the group will collectively listen to it and view the related Neuhaus drawing.
