Uruguayan artist Luis Camnitzer was born in 1937 and has lived and worked in New York since 1964. Among his many solo exhibitions are recent shows at Museo de Arte Diseño Contemporáneo, San José, Costa Rica (2007); Kunsthalle Kiel (2003); The Kitchen, New York (2001); and Museo del Barrio, New York (1995). Camnitzer was the recipient of Guggenheim Fellowships in 1982 and 1961. His work will be the subject of a retrospective organized by the Daros Collection, Zurich, in 2010.
